I have never heard of the 5-15-80 business rule. Very intriguing insight. What you said is something that I wish every person in business would learn: you are your brand and you must strategize how you are going to grow your business. Then once it's established, you need to make plans for expansion and optimizing your market. I'm looking forward to learning more in your workshops. [One new concept or idea that I learn at your workshop could be just what my business needs to increase sales and customer satisfaction.] Thank you.

I think that the University of Virginia's goals in procurement are very noble and very selfless. The University ought to be an example for other academic institutions that aim to uplift the value of education and the quality of life at the same time. They only do it with the help of the procurement system. Great job!

Hi Joni,

We do! There's a "UVa Construction Opportunities De-Mystified" workshop on 5/23, registration is free but you'll need to register ASAP at www.surveymonkey.com/s/XXQRGK7.

Also save the date of October 10-11 for SWaMFest VIII, which is a great opportunity to connect with nine of the largest colleges and universities in the state as well as their majority general contractors looking for subs. We'll have the registration link up at http://swamfest.crowdvine.com.

Mark,

The best way to learn about how to do business with UVa is to attend one of our bi-monthly vendor trainings referenced in this post. We are about to release our 2012 schedule, which will be posted on our vendor training site here: http://www.procurement.virginia.edu/pagevtraining.

Additionally, a listing of our frequently-used contracts can be found here: http://www.procurement.virginia.edu/pagecontracts. To view more information about our current electronic payment methods and provider, see: http://www.procurement.virginia.edu/pagepaymentmethods.

Can you provide additional resources/documentation that would make the vendor relationship with UVA possible?

Also is there a page on the site that lists all contracts-specifically anything payment related?

Thank you.
